Nestabilities,Shapeabilities and a punch!

 Poppy card
Hi, I have spent most of my day crafting and enjoying every moment of it ....bit hot and sticky but I am not moaning the sunshine is just wonderful.
The cards I have posted today are made from the Shapeabilities Fleur De Lis pendant that I have used before.

I just love it and they were very easy to do .

The Poppy Stamp is from Lavinia Stamps

The other stamp, on the Lavender card is also from Lavinia Stamps. I think they are so pretty.

I used a punch on the lavender card ...from the EK corner punch range.

Just  punch around the largest size of the Classic large circle nestabilities. I find it best to hold the punch upside down so you can see where you are placing it so it will line up with the 'cut shape' before.

I saw this on one of my 'blog hops' I can't remember which one ! but will find it and post the link...the lady is very clever and produces the most beautiful work.

Thanks for looking today.

Hougie scoring board

Good morning, another lovely sunny day and I am  back in the garden crafting and listening to the afternoon play (from yesterday) on the BBC iPlayer.......deep deep joy!

I have made a quick card using my Hougie Board, a great bit of kit that I use all the time.

I stamped the image on to a square 5in x 5in card blank with archival black ink and a Hero Arts stamp called Thinking of You!

The score lines are easy to do on the Hougie board and only take a minute or two.

The butterflies are Shapeabilities from Spellbinders and  after cutting, I stencilled them in the die with the same ink, plonked them in the corner and put the kettle on for morning coffee and a rich tea biscuit!

I have also posted a picture of my craft bag showing how I carry my Hougie board around.

It's too big to go in the bag but luckily has a handle and I 'nicked' a carabina from my husband (we go to the Scottish Highlands every year and he is a 'Munro bagger' ...you know, he wheezes up the mountains and coughs a lot when he gets to the top!)  I clip it through the handle then attach it to my bag ...it hits my legs when I carry it but ....hey.... we all need to suffer for our art !!

I also use another 'nicked' carabina to attach my roll of double sided tape where I can always find it and just pull from the roll however much I need ... small things that make my crafting more fun!

Coffee's ready ...thanks for looking today.
Happy crafting.

Shaperbilities Butterflies and Peel-offs!

So just a quick post to show what I've  been playing with today.
I wanted to use this beige colour card but felt a bit lazy so instead of stamping I used Peel-offs and  Copic Markers

The butterflies are Shapeabilities.
After die cutting the large one, I covered it with some of the peel-offs  and coloured it to match the flowers.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Nestabilities Hearts and a Nestabilities Pendant.

Hi, I hope you had a great weekend.
Mine was very busy and so enjoyable. Saturday was the Allhallows Crop day. If you go cropping you will understand how great it is to see all your crafty mates and make cards or scrap all day long.
If you haven't got a crop near you why not START one! I did and we have nearly thirty members now.

We meet once a month and we love it! If you need any advice on how to start your group/crop send me an e-mail I will be glad to help if I can .

Fathers day started with visits and calls from my children for Ken who was pleased with his cards and over the moon with the single malt!

Daisy is almost back to her normal self and we can resume our long walks / adventures after Thursday when the stitches come out. I would just like to say thank you to everyone for your  good wishes regarding Daisy and her operation, most kind of you all.

I made the cream card I have posted here last night. Cutting out the Nestabilities on my Quickutz Revolution

I destroyed my Big-Shot machine at the crop on Saturday by being silly and have had to buy another.

I feel a bit of a 'plonker' and will treat my new one with more respect when it arrives.
This card was so easy to make and I think it looks very pretty. Cream linen card stock, Classic Heart Nestabilities, Classic Scalloped Hearts Nestabilities, Fleur De Lis Shaperabilities Pendants and some roses and pearls.
It did not take long to do. I think it will make a nice wedding card or for an anniversary.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you have found something to interest you .
Come back soon.

Lets do dots!

Hi, I have found it a bit difficult to post this week as the time has flown by. We have been looking after Holly, my son Martin's puppy who is Daisy's sister. We have had a super time having loads of 'adventures'! and at times they have acted like two naughty kids. You know, one minute fighting then the next, silence as they both get stuck into some mischief ...usually digging huge holes in the lawn !

Tomorrow is a big day for us as Daisy is going to the vets for spaying. We know it is routine but you can't help worrying little. I am sure things will be fine and I have bought all her favourite foods to help her over the operation. We intend spoiling her and why not? life is too short not to spoil those we love ...be it family or friends or a pet . I have a 'wish ' list of crafty stuff if anyone wants to spoil me !!

The card I have posted today uses a technique I saw in a card magazine ( can't remember which one)

The flowers were stamped in black ink, embossed with clear powder and then using ordinary colouring pencils in three different shades of blue  you just 'tap' the pencil onto the image till you build up the colour and shading with loads of  'DOTS'

Please don't rush this ...it takes time and is a bit noisy as the pencil 'hits' the paper ...OK... I will admit it ....I love the affect but it drove me mad doing it !

The background striped paper was also created using the same coloured pencils ...blues again with some  brown, just random lines running down the paper.

A white card blank ....a bit of matting and layering ...cut out the flowers and fix them to the card with foam pads ...cheap as chips !!!
I would like to say thank you to my 'best crafty mate' Karen for a super day yesterday ...loads of fun and those cakes were 'yummy' ! Looking forward to the Allhallows Crop on Saturday ...whoop whoop !

Holly, Ken and Daisy.
Thanks for looking today. Have a good week .
